Car Lift Abu Dhabi to Dubai

The daily northbound commute from Abu Dhabi to Dubai. Shared seats or a private car from Khalifa City, Mussafah, Al Reem and Yas Island, at the same fixed fare.

Living in Abu Dhabi, working in Dubai

Plenty of people made the sensible decision to keep an Abu Dhabi rent and take a Dubai salary. The maths works — right up until you count the drive. It is about 140 km each way on the E11, 75 to 100 minutes if the road behaves, and you arrive at your desk having already done two hours of concentrated highway driving before anyone has said good morning to you.

This is the same service as our Dubai to Abu Dhabi car lift, run in the other direction and at the same fares: a shared carpool seat, or the whole car to yourself. We do not price the northbound leg higher, even though it is the busier direction in the morning.

Pick-up across Abu Dhabi

  • Mussafah — the earliest collection on the morning run; it takes the longest to clear before joining the highway.
  • Al Reem Island — Shams, Marina Square and the Gate towers, collected before the island bridges tighten up.
  • Abu Dhabi city centre — the Corniche, Hamdan Street and Al Danah, where most of our morning passengers start.
  • Khalifa City — already on the right side of the bridge, so it is collected late in the loop.
  • Yas Island — the last stop before the E11 proper; the shortest leg on the whole route.

The order is not arbitrary. Collecting Mussafah last would mean driving back into the city against everything leaving it. Working from the inside out is what keeps a shared car within its 100 minutes, and it is why your pick-up time and the car’s departure time are different numbers — we send you both.

Where the morning car drops in Dubai

Most northbound passengers are going to an office rather than home, so the drops are different from the evening run. Business Bay, Media City, Internet City, DIFC and Al Barsha take the bulk of them, and the car works down the E11 in that order. Deira, Bur Dubai, International City and Silicon Oasis sit off the highway, so if that is your drop, tell us when you book — it changes how the driver plans the last twenty minutes, and it is much easier to know in advance than to discover at Jebel Ali.

The realities of this direction

Two things are worth knowing. First, the morning northbound peak builds earlier than people expect — by 06:45 the approach to Jebel Ali is already slow, which is why our early departures leave Abu Dhabi at 05:15 rather than 06:00. Second, the evening return out of Dubai is the least predictable hour of the week on a Thursday, so we run the Thursday evening car earlier and tell passengers plainly that a 17:00 departure on a Thursday is not the same journey as a 17:00 departure on a Tuesday.

If you make this trip four or five days a week, book the monthly office pick and drop instead of paying seat by seat — same route, same driver, fixed monthly rate. And if it is a one-off, just send the date and time on WhatsApp; you will have a fixed fare back in a couple of minutes and pay the driver in cash at the end.

What comes with an Abu Dhabi to Dubai lift

  • Same fare, both directions — the same fixed fare whichever way you travel, whether you take a seat or a private car. The northbound morning is the busier direction, and we still don’t charge extra for it.
  • Office drops, not just home drops — the morning car runs to Business Bay, Media City, Internet City, DIFC and Al Barsha, because that’s where the people in it are actually going.
  • An honest departure time — we pull Thursday evening and Sunday morning cars earlier rather than quote you a time the E11 was never going to allow. You’d rather know than be told what you want to hear.

FAQ

Car Lift Abu Dhabi to Dubai — your questions

Is the Abu Dhabi to Dubai fare the same as the other direction?
Yes. We charge the same whichever way you are travelling, and we do not charge more for the return leg or for the busier direction, because the same car is making the trip either way. You can take a shared carpool seat or a private car for the whole vehicle. Fares are fixed and agreed on WhatsApp before you travel — message +971 50 149 4561 for a quote.
Which Abu Dhabi areas do you collect from?
Abu Dhabi city centre, Khalifa City, Mussafah, Al Reem Island and Yas Island. Mussafah and Al Reem are collected first on a shared morning run because they take longest to clear, then the city centre, with Khalifa City and Yas Island last since they are already on the E11 side.
Can you drop me somewhere other than my home in Dubai?
Yes. Most morning passengers are dropped at an office rather than a home, so tell us the office address and we will use it. Common drops are Business Bay, Media City, Internet City, DIFC, Deira and Al Barsha. If your drop is far off the E11, such as Silicon Oasis or International City, tell us when you book so the driver plans the loop around it.
What happens if I finish work late and miss the evening car?
Message us as soon as you know. If there is a later shared departure with a free seat we will move you onto it at no extra cost. If there is not, we will quote a private car. What we ask is that you tell us rather than let a full car wait, because everyone else in it has somewhere to be too.
Do you run this route on Fridays and Saturdays?
Yes, but on a lighter schedule. Weekday commuter demand disappears at the weekend, so shared departures are fewer and it is worth booking a day ahead. Private cars run normally all weekend, including late evening and early morning airport runs.
