Terms of Service
Please note: these terms are a general template prepared for a small transport operator. They should be reviewed by a qualified legal advisor before this site goes live, and updated to reflect our final licensing and company details.
These terms apply when you book any service from MA Transport Services (“we”, “us”, “our”) — by WhatsApp, by phone, by email, or through the form on uaecarlifts.com. By booking with us, you agree to them. If something here doesn’t suit your situation, tell us before you travel and we’ll agree it in writing.
Legal entity details: [Trade Licence No. — to be added] · [Registered company name — to be added] · [Registered office address — to be added] · [VAT / TRN number — to be added, if registered]
1. What we do
We are a road transport business operating in and around Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the wider United Arab Emirates. Our services are:
- Car lift and carpool between Dubai and Abu Dhabi — a shared seat, or the whole car.
- Daily office pick and drop on a monthly plan.
- Event pickup — weddings, conferences, groups, airport runs.
- Parcel delivery between cities.
- Rent a car, with or without a driver.
We provide these services ourselves and through drivers we work with. Where a driver is engaged by us for your trip, we remain your point of contact.
2. Booking and confirmation
Sending us a request is not a booking. A booking exists only once we reply to you — normally on WhatsApp — confirming the fare, the date, the time and the pick-up point. Until that reply, nothing is reserved and no seat is held for you.
The form on our website does not book anything by itself. It simply opens WhatsApp with your trip details filled in, ready for you to send. The booking process starts when you send that message and finishes when we confirm.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you give us — the pick-up address, the time, the number of passengers and a mobile number that will be answered on the day. If the driver cannot reach you on the number you gave, we treat it as a no-show (see section 6).
We may decline or cancel a booking — for example if no car is available, if a route or pick-up point is not safe or practical, or where we believe the trip would breach these terms or the law. If we cancel and you have already paid, you get a full refund.
3. Fares
Our fares are fixed and confirmed before you travel. There is no meter and no surge pricing. The fare we confirm is the fare you pay.
- Prices shown on this website, on social media, or given verbally as a rough guide are indicative. They are a starting point, not an offer. Only the fare we confirm for your specific trip is binding.
- The confirmed fare covers the journey as described — the agreed route, pick-up and drop-off. It includes fuel and tolls (including Salik) unless we say otherwise.
- If you change the trip after we confirm it — an extra stop, a different drop-off, more passengers, more luggage, a significantly later time — the fare may change. We will tell you the new fare before the change takes effect wherever we can.
- For a shared seat, the fare is per person. For a private car, it is for the car.
- Monthly and corporate rates are agreed separately in writing and apply for the period agreed.
4. Payment
- Cash to the driver at the end of the trip, in UAE Dirhams, is our standard method. Please carry close to the right amount — drivers do not always have change.
- Bank transfer is available for monthly plans and corporate accounts, on the terms agreed with you. Account invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice.
- We do not take card payments on this website. If anyone asks you to enter card details on a page claiming to be ours, it is not us — please tell us.
- For some bookings — large groups, event work, or long-distance private trips — we may ask for a deposit to hold the car. We will say so when we confirm.
- If an account goes unpaid, we may suspend service until it is settled.
5. Cancellation
We do not charge for cancellations made in good time. Please just tell us as early as you can — an empty seat we could have sold is the real cost.
- More than 2 hours before pick-up: no charge for a shared seat or a standard private trip.
- Less than 2 hours before pick-up: we may charge up to 50% of the fare, particularly where a driver has already been dispatched or has turned down other work.
- After the driver has arrived: the full fare may be charged.
- Event bookings and multi-car jobs: cancellation terms are agreed at the time of booking, because we commit cars and drivers in advance.
- Monthly plans: give us reasonable notice — normally a few days before the next month — if you want to stop or pause. Individual days you don’t travel are not refunded.
If we have to cancel — a breakdown, an accident, a driver falling ill — we will tell you as soon as we know and try to send another car. If we can’t, you pay nothing and any deposit is refunded.
6. Waiting time and no-shows
- Shared rides: the driver waits up to 10 minutes at the agreed point. Other passengers are already in the car and we can’t hold them up.
- Private cars: the driver waits up to 15 minutes free of charge. After that, waiting is charged at the rate we confirm to you.
- Airport pickups: we allow longer — normally up to 45 minutes from landing, to cover immigration and baggage. Please send us the flight number so we can track it.
- If you don’t arrive and we can’t reach you on the number you gave, the trip is a no-show and the full fare may be charged.
7. Luggage
Ordinary personal luggage travels with you at no extra charge — for a shared seat, that’s normally one suitcase and one small bag per person, because the boot is shared.
Tell us in advance if you have more, or anything bulky or awkward — a bicycle, a large TV, multiple boxes. We may need to send a bigger car or charge more, and if we only find out at the pick-up we may not be able to carry it.
Your belongings remain your responsibility. Please check the car before you get out. If you leave something behind, tell us quickly and we’ll do our best to get it back to you — we may charge the cost of the return trip. We can’t accept liability for items left in a vehicle.
8. Passenger conduct
The rules are short and they exist so that everyone in a shared car has a decent journey:
- Wear your seatbelt. It’s the law in the UAE, front and back.
- No smoking, vaping, alcohol or drugs in the vehicle.
- No behaviour that is abusive, threatening or unsafe — towards the driver or other passengers.
- Don’t damage or soil the vehicle. If you do, we may charge the cost of cleaning or repair.
- Children must travel in a way that complies with UAE law. Tell us at booking if you need a child seat.
- Pets only where agreed in advance.
A driver may refuse to start a trip, or end one, where a passenger is unsafe, intoxicated or abusive, or where continuing would break the law. In that case the fare remains payable and we may decline future bookings.
9. Parcel delivery
We carry documents, keys, spare parts and ordinary packages between cities. When you send a parcel with us:
- You must tell us what is inside. Declare the contents honestly at booking. We may ask to see them, and we may refuse anything we’re not comfortable carrying.
- We will not carry: anything illegal or prohibited under UAE law; weapons or ammunition; drugs; alcohol; hazardous, flammable, explosive or corrosive material; live animals; perishable goods; cash, gold, jewellery or other high-value items; or anything requiring special handling, licensing or temperature control.
- You are responsible for packing the item properly for a road journey.
- You confirm you are entitled to send the item and that sending it breaks no law. If a parcel turns out to contain something prohibited, you are responsible for the consequences, including any fine, penalty or loss we suffer, and we will cooperate fully with the authorities.
- We deliver to the recipient you name, in person. If nobody is there to receive it, we will contact you — a second delivery attempt may be charged.
- Our liability for parcels is limited. We are a car service, not an insured courier. Unless we have agreed something different with you in writing, our liability for loss of or damage to a parcel is limited to the delivery fee you paid for that parcel. We are not liable for the value of the contents, or for any indirect or consequential loss such as lost business or a missed deadline. If your item is valuable, insure it or use an insured courier.
10. Rent a car
Car rental is a separate arrangement and is confirmed by a rental agreement signed at handover. That agreement sets out the vehicle, the period and the rate, and it takes precedence over this page where the two differ. In general:
- Licence. You must hold a driving licence valid for use in the UAE for the vehicle class, and meet the minimum age and licence-held period for that vehicle.
- Identity. We need to see your Emirates ID (residents) or your passport and entry stamp (visitors), plus your licence, at handover.
- Security deposit. A refundable deposit is taken before the car is released. It is returned after the car comes back and after any fines, tolls or damage recorded against the rental period have been settled — this can take several weeks, because fines take time to appear.
- Fuel. Return the car with the same fuel level it left with, or we will charge for refuelling.
- Salik and tolls. Salik crossings and any other tolls during your rental are charged to you.
- Traffic fines are yours. Any fine, black point, penalty, impound cost or administrative charge arising from your use of the car is your responsibility, whenever it comes to light — including after the rental has ended. We may deduct it from the deposit or invoice you for it, plus a reasonable administration fee.
- Use of the car. Only drivers named on the rental agreement may drive it. No racing, off-roading, driving instruction, towing, subletting or taking the vehicle outside the UAE without our written consent.
- Accidents. Report any accident to the police immediately and get a police report, then tell us. Insurance cover can be refused without a police report, and the cost then falls on you.
- Mileage. Any daily mileage cap and the charge for exceeding it are stated in the rental agreement.
11. Timing, traffic and delays
We plan our departures around peak hours and we work hard to be on time, but journey times on the E11 are not something anyone controls. Traffic, accidents, road closures, diversions, fog, rain, sandstorms, police checkpoints, border or security procedures and vehicle breakdowns all happen.
Times we quote are estimates in good faith, not guarantees. We are not liable for loss caused by a delay outside our reasonable control — a missed flight, a missed meeting, a missed appointment. If your trip is time-critical, please build in a buffer and tell us when booking so we can plan for it.
12. Insurance and liability
Our vehicles carry the motor insurance required by UAE law, and passengers are covered to the extent that insurance provides. [Insurance details / policy provider — to be added.]
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profit, lost business, missed connections, or loss of opportunity.
- Our total liability for any one trip is limited to the fare paid for that trip, except where UAE law provides otherwise.
- Parcels are covered by the specific limit in section 9.
- We are not liable for loss caused by information you gave us that was wrong or incomplete.
Complaints: tell us as soon as you can on WhatsApp or by email, and give us a fair chance to put it right.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the business changes. The version published on this page when you book is the version that applies to your booking. Material changes will be reflected in the date below.
14. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from a service we provide, are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and, where applicable, those of the Emirate of Dubai. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai. We would much rather resolve things by talking first.
